Embla sculpture.

Solid elm, walnut inlay and oak plinth.

Created from a reclaimed board of English elm, this hand carved anthropomorphic sculpture was inspired in form by the “pole gods” or bog figures of prehistoric Europe - crudely carved esoteric cult images often found deposited in ancient wetlands.

It speaks to our lost connection to the natural world and to the seasons and rhythms of the earth.
